Table Tennis NSW Launches NextGen Program to Develop Future Stars

Table Tennis NSW is proud to announce the launch of the TTNSW NextGen Program, a new athlete development initiative designed to identify, develop and inspire the next generation of players who aspire to represent New South Wales and beyond.

Developed by Olympians Vivian Dederko (TTNSW NextGen Lead Coach) and Michelle Bromley (TTNSW NextGen Program Manager), the invitation-only program will provide additional training and learning opportunities for talented U11 and U13 athletes.

The program has been created to complement athletes' existing club and private coaching environments while fostering a strong culture of excellence, teamwork and enjoyment.

Beginning in Term 3, 2026, the TTNSW NextGen Program will offer weekly squad training for selected athletes, providing opportunities to train alongside their peers, develop strong training habits, improve technical and tactical skills, and learn from experienced coaches and guest presenters.

The initiative forms part of TTNSW's commitment to strengthening participation pathways and building greater depth within the sport.

Building Strong Foundations

TTNSW NextGen Program Manager and dual Olympian, Michelle Bromley, believes the program will play an important role in supporting the future growth of table tennis in New South Wales.

"It’s an exciting project to be part of. Building a strong future for our sport starts with building strong foundations. We want to create an environment that’s both aspirational and fun, where young players can learn and grow together."

Investing in the Future

TTNSW NextGen Lead Coach Vivian Dederko said the program reflects Table Tennis New South Wales’ commitment to enhancing junior programs to create a clear pathway from beginner participation in NSW through to state and national squad representation.

"I'm looking forward to leading the TTNSW NextGen Program and to help shape the next generation of players coming through our pathway," Dederko said.

"Strong state teams aren't built by one or two exceptional players — they're built through depth. The NextGen Program is about identifying and developing that depth early and giving young athletes access to high-quality training opportunities."

"This is an important step in building the future of our sport, and I'm excited to work closely with these athletes as they continue their development journey."
