Table Tennis Takes Centre Stage on Weekend Today
Published Wed 08 Apr 2026
Table tennis was in the spotlight on Saturday 28th March, as NSW players Michelle Bromley and Rodolphe Souvy headed to the Channel 9 studios in North Sydney for a fun feature on the Weekend Today Show.
Hosts Lizzie Pearl and Michael Atkinson, who had been quietly battling it out off camera, took the opportunity to finally settle the score live on air. To raise the stakes, dual Olympian Michelle Bromley was brought in alongside fellow player Rodolphe Souvy to showcase their skills and share some basic tips.
The segment highlighted just how enjoyable table tennis can be, with plenty of laughs, competitive spirit, and impressive rallies on display.
It was a light-hearted and engaging feature that gave table tennis another great moment in the spotlight, showcasing the sport to a national audience and no doubt inspiring viewers to pick up a bat themselves.
