The Prime Minister of Australia the Hon Anthony Albanese MP met with the Vice President of Table Tennis New South Wales Dr Michael Li on 1 July 2023.

The Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Senator Hon Penny Wong wrote to TTNSW Life Member Mr Noel Shorter: "I wish to acknowledge the role you played in the 1971 Ping Pong Diplomacy Tour and to congratulate you on celebrating your 85th birthday this year." with a photo of playing Ping Pong in late June 2023.
