Passing of Lachlan Leung

Published Thu 08 Jan 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lachlan Leung, aged 17.

Lachlan bravely battled an aggressive and rare brain cancer for twelve months. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of 7 January, surrounded by his loving family.

Lachlan loved life, his family, and his friends. He played table tennis with integrity and sportsmanship, always encouraging fair play and the true spirit of the game. He was willing to help others, and deeply respected by all who knew him. He will be forever loved and missed by our community.

In lieu of flowers, Lachlan's family kindly asks that donations be made to the Children’s Cancer Institute in Lachlan’s memory. Brain cancer requires ongoing research to develop better treatments and improve outcomes for children and families affected.
