Steps before signing up and attending this course:

  1. Complete the Community Umpires Course on Spin Academy. Follow the Steps listed here to sign in to your account and complete the free online course: https://www.tabletenniseducation.org.au/how-to
  2. Complete the State Umpire Part 1: Officiating Principles Course also on Spin Academy. 
  3. Contact seemillertt@gmail.com to be granted free access to the State Umpire Part 2: Training Course.

  • Professional indemnity insurance
  • Attendants have to be over 16 to sit the exam and be accredited

 

Course Conductor: Sam Miller (International Umpire/National Referee)

Please note that you need to be a registered member of a club to sign up and to receive your accreditation, insurance coverage, and get work as an Umpire, but don't worry, every club has the right category called Non Playing Official (as a minimum). You can register online: membership and choose the club from the list.

 


State Umpire Accreditation – Part 2: Officiating Training

2 Online Sessions (participants must attend both sessions) 

Session 1: Thursday 25 June 7-10pm

Session 2: Thursday 9 July 7-10pm

3. Basic Practical Training
Complete 2 x 3 hour online practical umpiring seminar, candidates will be trained in key practical competencies, including:

  • Correct use of the scoresheet.

  • Checking nets and rackets correctly.

  • Proper use of score indication and communication.

  • Appropriate use of hand signals (State-level standard).
  • Understanding of behaviour regulations.

  • Timing a match
  • Basic match procedures (pre-, post- and during under single umpire system).


State Umpire Accreditation – Part 2: Officiating Training

Conducted as a 4.5-hour practical umpiring seminar, candidates will be trained in key practical competencies, including:
