TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORT SECTION

The Sydney Olympic Park Authority in association with the State Sports Centre welcomes you to Sydney Olympic Park and looks forward to assisting you to ensure your Sporting Associations enjoyment of your new location.

The Sydney Olympic Park Authority maintains responsibility for managing all public spaces between the venues, car parks as well as the vast Millennium Parklands, also incorporating Bicentennial Park. 

Located just 17km from Sydney’s CBD and 8km from Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park is truly the new heart of Sydney.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority and venues at Sydney Olympic Park are strongly committed to providing the world's best practice in environmentally responsible management of events and of the site as a whole.

This Traffic and Transport section of the information pack has been compiled to assist your association’s relocation to the Indoor Sports Halls on Grand Parade, Sydney Olympic Park.  A full information pack will be forwarded to you shortly.

1.0 State Transit Buses:
There are 3 regular services operating to Sydney Olympic Park and the Ferry Wharf and the summary of these services is provided below.  Please contact State Transit on Tel: 131500 for specific route information.

Bus Timetables:
401 Service - Lidcombe & Olympic Park Station:
Weekdays
·         Lidcombe Station - Olympic Park Station 7.40am – 5.40pm every 40 mins.
·         Olympic Park Station - Lidcombe Station 6.30am, 7.15am, 8.00am then every 40mins until 4.40pm
No weekend service available.

403 Service - Strathfield to Homebush Bay Wharf

Weekdays
Olympic Park Station – Strathfield Station 6.56am – 6.43pm approximately every ½ hour.
Strathfield Station – Olympic Park Station 6.00am – 6.05pm approximately every ½ hour.

Saturday
Buses from Strathfield Station to Olympic Park Station run from 6.15am every ½ hour to 7.45am  8.23am, 9.18am every ½ hour to 5.48pm, 6.19pm.

 Buses from Olympic Park Station to Strathfield Station run from 8.52am, 9.57am every ½ hour to 5.57pm, 6.56pm.

Sunday
 
Strathfield Station – Olympic Park Station: 9.18am every ½ hour to 5.48pm, 6.19pm.
Olympic Park Station – Strathfield Station: 9.57am, 10.27am every ½ hour to 5.57pm, 6.56pm.

555 Service – Parramatta Station to Olympic Park Station

Weekdays
Parramatta Station to Olympic Park Station 6.00am – 6.00pm hourly.
Olympic Park Station to Parramatta Station 6.30am – 6.30pm hourly.

Saturday
Buses from Parramatta Station to Olympic Park Station run hourly from 8.15am – 4.15pm.
Buses from Olympic Park Station to Parramatta Station run hourly from 8.45am – 4.55pm.

Sunday
Parramatta Station– Olympic Park Station: 8.30am – 4.30pm hourly.
Olympic Park Station – Parramatta Station: 9.00am – 5.00pm hourly.

2.0 Ferry Services
Ferry services currently operate from Circular Quay and Darling Harbour.  Patrons are met at the Homebush Bay Wharf by a State Transit bus, which will drop patrons to the heart of the site.

The following provides a summary of current ferry services available:

Circular Quay to Homebush Bay depart: 0655, 0820, 0900, 0950, 1050, 1150, 1250, 1.50pm, 3.10pm, 4.35pm, 5.35pm.

 Homebush Bay to Circular Quay depart: 0705, 0731, 0745, 0910, 1020, 1120, 1220, 1.20pm, 2.20pm, 3.20pm, 4.20pm, 5.15pm, 5.37pm, 6.35pm, 7.45pm, 7.50pm.

Weekend
Sydney Ferries 

Ferries from Circular Quay to Homebush Bay Wharf depart:
0805, 0850 thence every hour at 50 mins past the hour until 5.50pm.

Ferries from Homebush Bay Wharf to Circular Quay depart:
0900, 1020 thence every hour at 20 mins past the hour until 7.20pm.

Matilda Cruises
1 service per day leaving Darling Harbour at 5.35pm arriving at Homebush Bay Wharf at 6:20pm and returning to Darling Harbour at 6.45pm.

3.0 City Rail Services
The following provides a summary of the weekday/weekend train services available.

Weekday Services 

Olympic Park Sprint will operate between Lidcombe and Olympic Park Stations at 10 minute intervals between 7.00am  and 11.30pm.
Four services a day will depart Central Station for Olympic Park at 9.26am, 10.26am, 11.26am & 12.26pm.
Five services a day will depart Olympic Park for Central Station at 11.53am, 12.53pm, 2.23pm, 2.54pm & 3.57pm.
On Friday evenings from 6.00pm to 11.30pm four services an hour will operate between Olympic Park and Central Stations and return.

 Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays

Olympic Park Sprint operates between Lidcombe and Olympic Park Stations at 10 minute intervals between 7.00am}and 11.30pm.

Four services an hour will operate between Olympic Park and Central Stations and return from 7.00am to 11.30pm.

 4.0 Coaches and Mini Buses:
Drop off of passengers for the Indoor Sports Halls should occur on the Olympic Boulevard at the Northern Bus Terminal (immediately beside the Sports Halls) accessible from Kevin Coombs Avenue.  Parking for coaches and mini buses can be undertaken in Coach Pod B (shown on attached plan).

A coach parking booking form is also enclosed, please complete the form for every bus and return to the Authority.  It is important to book your buses into the parking areas to avoid conflict with coach parking for other events held at the numerous venues at Sydney Olympic Park.

5.0 Vehicle Parking:
A limited amount of free “on-street” parking up to 2 hours is available on Grand Parade and Showground Road near the Sports Halls.  Alternately parking is available in the multi storey car Park P1, for $2.00 per hour up to a maximum of $10 for the day.

Vehicular parking is not allowed on the paved pedestrian area in front of the Indoor Sports Halls.

Sydney Olympic Park is a restricted parking precinct and infringements of $63 or more apply for parking in unauthorised areas.

During major events restricted local area parking is widely advertised and street signs indicate that special arrangements are in force, this includes Grand Parade and Showground Road.
